The importance of Khasekhemwy for all following calendartion was enormous.
2593 BC is the year (minus) -2592 by Astronomy and this is not chance,
for 2592 years is one-tenth of 25920 years, a full round of precession.

When we add 525 years backward to 2592

this equals minus -3116 or 3117 BC, the start of the calendar.

When Exiguus set the current modern calender to our year 1 AD,
he did this in 525 AD, again maintaing the 3117-year period,

only on the wrong side of the year 0 mark.
This is why there was confusion in 46 BC at the time of Julius Caesar,
who consulted the Egyptian Priest Sosigenes on calender reform.
Sosigenes aparently did not know whether the 2592 years ran from the end
of Khasekhemwy's reign, or its beginning.
