The Tabernacle
of the Lord
The 1st Inner Shrine - Shrine 2

Inside the outer shrine and draped over the second shrine
was a framework of wood
holding up an enormous dark linen pall (spread),
sewn with thousands of bronze star-rosettes,
the effect of which resembled the night sky.
This is also described in the Bible..

The pall was in fragile condition, the fabric
having been torn from its attachments over the ages
by the weight of the ornaments.

Between the first and second shrines were also found
various ceremonial objects, wrapped in linen.
Among these were two staves,
one each of gold and silver,
with figures of the young king.

The staves suggest figures carried by priests
and officials of state
