NOAH'S FLOOD

by William Ryan & Walter Pitman
Short Review of the Book by Andis Kaulins

William Ryan and Walter Pitman, Noah's Flood, published by Simon & Schuster Inc., New York, New York, USA, 1999, ISBN 0-684-81052-2.

This is a pioneer publication in the history of human civilization. Ryan and Pitman make a great case that the Great Flood actually occurred. EVERYONE should read this book.

Noah's Flood is essential reading for everyone. William Ryan and Walter Pitman are geophysicists, marine geologists and oceanographers at Columbia University and also affiliated with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, New York, famed for the Glomar Challenger.

Their geological marine research shows clearly that the Mediterranean (Aegean) Sea "spilled over" at the Bosporus about 7,500 years ago, forming the Black Sea. This research is in fact more or less undisputed in geological circles, and indeed supported by a similar independent finding by geologist Bob Karlin of the University of Nevada at Reno.

The flood drove great numbers of people from their flooded home and led to the spread agriculture into Europe, Asia and Mesopotamia.

This means that the Biblical tale of Noah's Flood is true. We thus have to completely rethink our current ideas about the origin of the Hebrews, Sumerians (Gilgamesh flood tale) and Pharaohs, and must completely re-examine the origins of Indo-European languages and the languages of the cultures of antiquity.

This book by Ryan and Pitmans provides THE MECHANISM for the similarity of languages such as Latvian with ancient Sumerian.
