Geodetic Survey and the Rollright Stones
of Ancient Britain

The Rollright Stones are also connected in a near North / South direction (6 degrees of deviation) to the geodetic center in southern Britain at or near Wynds´ Point near Great Malvern and the Herefordshire Beacon.
This point is also near Midsummer Hill.

The top of Herefordshire Beacon is known as the iron age "British Camp"
with its center at the "Citadel". It is the oldest such "camp" in Britain.
 Essentially, the citadel marked Draco and the North Ecliptic Pole.

At the south end of this camp  is Clutter´s Cave (6 feet wide, 6 feet high and 10 feet deep, hollowed out of volcanic rock) - thought to be associated with sun-worship. See No Through Road, the AA Book of Country Walks, Walk 117.
