The Kings Stone at the Rollright Stones of Ancient Britain

Ancient British legend states that whoever could see the town just
north of the Kings Stone would become King of the Britain,
because there is a ridge rise just behind it
prohibiting any view down into the valley below.


This ridge is not chance, however, but partly man-made.
There is a raised earthwork running directly East from the Kings Stone
to a fallen megalith at one of the cardinal directions. One can see
this raised earth in the photograph below.
