ELDERS - VECS - ISH

Hebrew ISH, ISHAH "man, woman, elders"
Latvian VEC-, VECIE "old, elders" VECA "old one"

Hebrew ISHAH has the common Semitic root *ANT-AT, found as Akkadian ASHATU "wife", Ugaritic ATT "wife", Aramaic INTeTA "woman" and Arabic 'UNTA "feminine", with the form ANTeTA attested in Aramaic.

INTA is a common Latvian female name and ANDis a common male name.
Greek ANTHROS and ANTHOS come to mind here as well.

The root of INTA in Latvian I presume to be JAUNIETE "young woman" and just as SIEVA and SIEVETE in Latvian demonstrates, -TE is an appended demonstrative pronoun meaning "female" - in plural we would say in Latvian SIEVIE-TES or SIEV-IESHI "women, females". This is because there are two sets of demonstrative pronouns in Latvian, those with T- and those with SH-, both meaning the same thing.

In Semitic, according to Sivan,
the masculine form of demonstrative pronouns is DU-U
and the Akkadian is SHU/A.
Latvian has both.

In any case, as far as the linguistics is concerned
- there is basic agreement in Semitic and Latvian in the female endings,
and we find this in Pharaonic Egyptian endings as well.

There are many possibilities for the roots of Hebrew ISH and ISHAH:
1. 1st person personal pronoun "I, self" Latvian ES or Lithuanian ASH
2. Latvian pronouns SHI, SHA, SHINI, SHADU, SHIM
3. Latvian ESHA or ESHANA "the state of being"
4. Latvian for "parents" is VEC-AKI "the old ones", i.e. ELDERS
with Hebrew ISH comparable to  Latvian VECS "male elder" and ISHAH = Latvian VECAH "female elder" = "female elder".

VECS and VECAH "elders" seem the most likely.
