THE SHIP OF SARGON II - KHORSABAD

It is quite clear that Sargon II was none other than Ashurbanipal,
who took the legendary deeds of Sargon of Akkad
(the king now erroneously seen also as a separate Sargon I)
to be his own - and rewrote ancient documents.

In his Star Names, Richard Hinckley Allen, p.2, writes as much, stating that George Smith in 1872, who found the Legend of Creation in the Babylonian cuneiform tablets, had called the heavenly signs Mizrata (Biblical Mazzaroth and Targum Mazzaloth) - "as found on the tablets of the reign of As-sur-ba-ni-pal, 600 B.C., although supposed to have been originally composed about 2350 B.C., a supposition confirmed by Père Scheil, who recently has found a fragment of this legend on a tablet bearing the name of Am-mi-za-du-ga, King of Babylon, 2140 B.C." (emphasis supplied) "Some scholars...notably [the famed Egyptologist Brugsch] even trace the Egyptian zodiac at Dendera "a thousand years earlier and assert that it was largely copied from similar works of Sargon's time." The correct Decipherment - by Andis Kaulins - is in the graphic below.
It shows that the Ship of Sargon is a planisphere of ca. 1730 BC
so that the current dating of this ship of Sargon to the period of Sargon II
by the Assyriologists is erroneous, a conclusion supported by the fact that
the  Assyrian King List, dating all the Assyrian kings from about 1700 BC on,
was also found at ancient Dur Sharrukin. Hence, we have a "double fit"
for a date around 1730 BC, when the Autumn Equinox
hit the "cross-bar" of the stars of Libra exactly.
