Major Triangulation Points for Survey of Salisbury Plain

THE THREE TRIANGULATION POINTS
Terrestrial Pythagorean triangulation of the Salisbury Plain
by the prehistoric peoples of Britain utilized three major points of terrestrial reference sighted to heavenly stars - as shown on the Pictish Cross Slab of Rossie Priory
(pictured on the back cover of the
official Ordnance Survey map of Ancient Britain
by RCAHMS).

These 3 points were marked later by 3 gigantic chalk figures
near the actual points of triangulation, even today locatable

by Ley Lines:These three figures are:

1. The Long Man at Wilmington,
near Eastbourne ["East-born"] and Beachy Head.

2. The Cerne Giant at
Cerne Abbas, Winterbourne ["West-born"]
north of Dorchester (the triangulation point is at the hole in the artificially flattened Trendle). The Cerne Giant was called Hele ("hele" is Anglo-Saxon for Welsh "ele" as "angle" of the triangulation).

3. The famed White Horse of
Uffington, SW of Oxford (Uffington Castle) which is near Wayland's Smithy and the nearby Dragon Hill.

Triangulation of
Salisbury Plain

The
Pharaonic Egyptians
had a triangulation
they called
mr (mer in
Indo-European
Latvian is "measure").

This right triangle is
described by
Peter
Tompkins in
Secrets of
the Great Pyramid
,
Galahad Books, N.A.,
1997, p. 377:

Tompkins writes
about
mr:
"If a
right triangle has an
angle of 36 degrees
and the
longer side is 100,
the
hypotenuse is
2 / phi 100
= 123.6068,
the
other side being
72.6542."

This was also the triangulation
made for the
Salisbury Plain

the Hypotenuse is:
10125 seconds of arc
which is equal to
1/128th of a circle.

Please note that no large construction on land can be done without survey. Indeed, it may be no coincidence that the only two US Presidents to work as surveyors were Washington and Lincoln, unanimously ranked by historians as the best Presidents the US has ever had. You have to "know your land".
