China
Shang Culture
Relation to Xia (Hsia) and Olmecs

Shang Dynasty Vase

[LexiLine agrees with Clyde Winters below, except 1) that we see
the origin of these literate cultures and their writing in the
Great FloodGreat Flood
of the Black Sea and the subsequently induced migrations, and
2) we think "black hair" was actually "blonde, red-haired",
since
colored meant "reddish" as well as "black" in ancient languages.
3) the
pottery as above - speaks a clear tale of origin]

CLYDE A. WINTERS wrote to ACELIST on 97-02-06
re MIKE XU, The Olmecs and the Chinese Shang

"I deciphered the Olmec writing back in 1979. So I can understand the
problems anyone has trying to convince the establishment that there is a
relationship between the Olmec and Shang writing.
"

"There is a relationship between the Shang and Olmec writing because
the people who wrote these inscriptions came from the same area.
If you look at Proto-Sumerian, Libyco-Berber, Minoan A, the writing
on the Olmec celts and the Shang writing you will discover
that they are analogous. "

"My research on this subject has shown that the founders of
Olmec Civilization, and the founders of the Xia and Shang Li civilizations
in China came from Middle Africa. These people spoke Dravidian and
Mande languages. Due to their common origin they used a similar script.
Most Chinese archaeologist know from the skeletal remains found in China
and the Chinese literature that the founders of Xia and Shang were the
<Li Min> "black heads/race".

"The first contemporary Chinese group to rule much of China was
the Zhou dynasty. The previous dynasties, except for the
Anyang-Shang dynasty ( which was founded by people like the
Southeast Asians and Phillipinos ) were predominately
Dravidian and Mande speaking." - C.A. Winters

CLYDE A. WINTERS wrote to ACELIST
on 97-02-12 re VIOVAD Olmecs-Shang 4

" The Hsia ( Xia) dynasty did exist. The Xia are believed to have belonged
to the Erlitou culture. The founder of the Xia dynasty was
emperor Yu. Chinese historical text claim that the Xia lived near the Yi,
Lo, Yellow and Zhi rivers. The dates for the Erlitou culture are
2030-1530 B.C. "

"The central area for the Xia empire was Henan and Shaanxi.
The capital city of Xia was located in the Gaocheng area.
Scholars believe that the capital of Xia: Yangcheng, is the
Wang Cheng Gang mound near the Wudu river.
Early Shang and Xia were closely related. They both shared elements
from the Longshanoid and Erlitou culture. For example, the Taosi ruins,
a Longshan site between the Fenhe and Changshan ranges, is considered
a middle to late Xia period site.
The Xia people belonged to the Yueh clan."

"The earliest evidence of writing in China is found on pottery.
A cursory examination of the pottery signs on Chinese ware will
show their analogy to Shang inscriptions." - C.A. Winters

LexiLine Commentary:

We agree with much of Clyde Winters work.
However, similar to the Sumerians also allegedly being called "black-haired"
by the locals of the Middle East, the Chinese themselves have black hair and thus
would hardly call an immigrant people "dark-haired" as a mark of distinction.

LI in our opinion goes back to a similar root as Sumerian LU.
The Shang (who had a 360-day calendar with intercalations)
and their predecessors entered gradually into China from the West
along the Silk Caravan Route (German: Seidenstrasse) and then to the Khiang,
the Hwang-Ho River.

Interesting is that the entry point to China by the mound-builders
of China corresponds generally to the area of the Indo-European Tocharians,
who are called JUEE-DSCHI by the Chinese, i.e.
the LUEE-DSCHI (Lett-schi, Latvians) or GUDDA.

There is of course in our opinion also an African connection as Winters alleges,
but this is through the Tifinag Script, and this script does not originate in Africa.
