Pharaoh Sources
Second Dynasty
Sources for the Length of Pharaonic Reigns
of Old Kingdom Egypt
Calibrated to Each Other and thus Corrected
by Andis Kaulins

Turin Canon, Sakkara, Abydos
Manetho (Julius Africanus and Eusebius), Eratosthenes, Barbarus

The data of the ancients related to the stars, and  -  as we shall see, for example, Eratosthenes gave us only parts
of the 1st, 2nd and 6th Old Kingdom dynasties.

Scholars, not recognizing this, have inexcusably "CHANGED" the order of kings 13 to 17 given by Eratosthenes into an artificial order of 15, 16, 17, 13 and 14, just to get some name similarity with the 4th dynasty ! Of course, Eratosthenes gave the kings in the right order. The 4th dynasty was not intended. This is a good example of mainstream science bending the facts to fit their erroneous theories.

xxx = destroyed hieroglyph   ----- = no king given
The numbers below (e.g. 62, 60, 62 for Menes) are the Pharaoh's length of reign and name according to that source.

Note: The data of the above sources
related to the Pharaohs' post-mortem star realms,
(which once may have had some actual relation to the length of human rule), but, due to precession, e.g. in the case of Eratosthenes, he counted stars distances in the 3rd century BC, NOT as the Pharaohs saw them in their era.

These are the heliacal rising star realms of the Second Dynasty on the basis of Eratosthenes data. From Arcturus to Antares, 79 heliacal rising days. From Antares in Scorpio to eta-Ophiuchus (Gosormies) is 6 days. From eta-Ophiuchus to Altair is 30 days. From Altair (Maris gios agtoi = Persian Muru "bird", Aquila) to Enif is 26 days. From the heliacal rising Anubis (the star ENIF in Pegasus = ANUBis) to the heliacal rising of Alpheratz (Sirios, which is Sirrah, another name for Alpheratz) in Andromeda is 20 days. From Alpheratz to Al Genib in Perseus is 18 days. From the star Al Genib in Perseus (Chnoibos Gneiros, where Chnoibos = Genib) to Capella in Auriga is 22 days. From Capella to the heliacal rising of Beta-Auriga (the back of the head - see below) is 13 days and it is another 10 days to the heliacal rising of theta-Auriga (the forehead).

For Neferkeris above, the correct reading is sound determinative CH plus Keris. Note that the Greek Pakausis is the same as Latvian pakausis "back of the head" whereas Greek Pier ehas the Latvian comparable piere "forehead".

The lengths of "reign" given by contradictory ancient sources
differ according to which stars were used for calculations.

The most complete is the data of Julius Africanus
(using Manetho's lost original).
