Papke interprets
the famous epic of Gilgamesh
as a star myth.

The three "paths" of the Gods
are astronomical paths in Heaven
These are

En.Lil
Anu
Ea

which are described in the LexiLine pages
starting at

This theory has also been picked up
in a recent dissertation entitled
"The Deluge:
A Mythical Story that was Projected onto the Constellations"
written by John J. McHugh,
1999, Department of Anthropology,
Brigham Young University, USA.

He claims that the great flood of Noah
was written into the constellations.

The Sumerian-Akkadian terms for Gilgamesh are
Ziu-suddu and Utna-pishtim
and correspond to Latvian
Ud(z)ens-zens and Udena-puisitim
meaning
"(of the) son of the flood".
